Dr. Jo McShane

A native of Qualicum Beach, Dr. Jo McShane completed her undergraduate studies at both the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University. She furthered her passion for dentistry at the University of Southern California, earning her dental credentials in 1999. When she's not creating smiles, Dr. McShane can be found jogging, nurturing her garden, or enjoying time with her family.
Dr. Verne McShane

A pillar of the Qualicum Beach dental community since 1974, Dr. Verne McShane's passion for dentistry remains undiminished. A graduate of UBC's Faculty of Dentistry, he's held prominent positions including the presidency of the Upper Island Dental Association and has been a proactive member of various orthodontic and implant study clubs. Beyond dentistry, Dr. McShane's passions include curling, gardening, and doting on his grandchildren.
Dr. Giulia Suriano

Dr. Giulia Suriano grew up in Southern Alberta, where she discovered her passion for healthcare early on. She completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Lethbridge before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Alberta.
Drawn to the natural beauty of Qualicum Beach—and the fact that her fiancé is a local—Dr. Suriano has made it her home. Outside the clinic, she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her fiancé, Evan, and their dog, Nash. She also loves skiing during the winter months. Dr. Suriano is dedicated to providing compassionate, modern dental care to her patients and is excited to be a part of the Qualicum Dental team.
Dr. Rafael Magaña
For over two decades, Dr. Rafael Magaña was a cornerstone at Qualicum Dental. Joining us in 2001, his bilingual abilities in Spanish & English and his expertise, honed at both the University of California San Diego and the University of Southern California, enriched our community. Beyond the clinic, his passions included baseball, curling, and creating memories with his children.
As he embarks on a new chapter focused on his health, we honor his invaluable contributions and send our deepest well wishes.
