Qualicum Dental Now Accepting the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)

Bringing Affordable Dental Care to Our Community

Qualicum Dental is now accepting the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), making dental care more accessible and affordable for our patients.

Qualicum Dental is pleased to announce that we are now accepting the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).

To better serve our patients and guide you through this new plan, we have created a comprehensive CDCP Information Portal and an extensive FAQ section on our website.

Key Details about the CDCP:

  1. Coverage Details: Even if your card states 100% coverage, this does not equate to 100% of the BC Dental Fee Guide. Patients will still have a small co-payment, with approximately 85-90% of eligible dental expenses covered by the CDCP.

  2. Basic Services Limitations: Some basic services, such as teeth polishing, are not covered by the CDCP. Most patients receive 2-3 units of scaling every 6 months, but the CDCP has a maximum benefit of 4 units of scaling per year, which may be insufficient for managing periodontitis in some cases.

  3. Special Circumstances for Crowns and Cast Partial Dentures: Coverage for crowns and cast partial dentures is only available under special circumstances and requires pre-authorization. Please note that pre-authorizations will not be considered until November of this year.

  4. No Plan Maximum: As of now, there is no maximum limit on the plan’s coverage that we are aware of.

  5. Additional Information: For more information about eligibility, signing up, and covered services, please visit our CDCP Information Portal and FAQ on our website.

We are excited that our patients who previously found dentistry to be outside their budget can now access better oral health care. To help you make the most of this new plan, we have created a comprehensive CDCP Information Portal and an extensive FAQ section on our website.

Our CDCP FAQ section addresses common questions and concerns you may have about the plan. This resource is intended to offer quick and easy answers, ensuring that you have a clear understanding of how the CDCP works and how it can benefit you.

Additionally, in the CDCP Information Portal, you will find detailed information about the Canadian Dental Care Plan, including eligibility requirements, how to sign up, and specifics about the services covered. This portal is designed to provide you with all the necessary information to understand and utilize the CDCP effectively.

Visit our resources to learn more about how the CDCP can support your dental health needs.
